MBA Study Visit in MGJ Sp. z o.o. – 18.10.2024

A significant advantage of our MBA program is the diversity of groups – they consist of people from different companies, from various sectors and with different managerial experience. Our teachers are people from the academic and business world, from different countries, cultures and organizations.

To enrich the perspective of business perception and make the program practical, we invite MBA students to participate in study visits organized in the companies of our business partners.

One is a family sawmill near Wejherowo, the Company MGJ sp z o.o. In October, MBA cohort no. 15 visited the Company to understand the specifics of the Polish SME organization, operating on a specific market dependent on a state supplier. Our guide was Małgorzata Wejer, PhD, co-owner of the Company, who also inspired us with her own story of career development.

During the visit, we had the chance to learn about the various stages of wood production, from harvesting the raw material to its final processing.

Employees of the sawmill shared with us detailed information about the technologies used in processing, including modern machinery and innovative solutions that increase production efficiency.

A valuable element of this meeting was teamwork, where MBA students could use the managerial experience and knowledge they gained during their MBA studies in search of innovative solutions for the Company’s new strategy. Some proposed ideas include developing a new product offer, expanding into new markets, and reaching new customer groups.
