Blend of tradition and innovation – Study Visit: Nyborg-Mavent S.A.

On April 21, 2023, the 15th MBA edition had the pleasure of visiting the Nyborg-Marvent company, where graduates of our MBA program play key managerial roles. Piotr Jaskólski is the CEO, and Mateusz Bortkiewicz the CFO/COO. It was an excellent opportunity to get to know an organization where tradition meets modern technology, production meets science, and organizational culture is a source of employees’ pride and value for the company’s clients.

We were very impressed by the Colubris Acoustic and Flow Research Laboratory, which plays a significant role in a project involving scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology.

The name of the project means hummingbird, a bird that can move very fast and very quietly at the same time. The laboratory was designed to collect data and optimize the parameters of modern fans.

One of the inspirations for the company’s development was the capstone project by Mateusz Bortkiewicz – under the supervision of Marek Galanter, an MBA lecturer.

The discussion session, which we called: Business Speed Dating, was attended by MBA students and employees of the Nyborg-Mawent company. The participants, changing tables, topics, and interlocutors, had the opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by their companies in eight areas, including business development, change management, organizational culture, and process optimization. We exchanged experiences, shared good practices, and sought creative solutions.

We also had time to network and integrate, an essential part of the MBA program.

We thank the company for the invitation and the opportunity to experience their culture. We wish Nyborg-Mawent further development and are waiting for the next meeting.
