Competitive Education Conference – “University Idea. Digital Transformation.”

We have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the Competitive Education Conference entitled “University Idea. Digital Transformation”, scheduled to take place on April 17 and 18, 2018 at Hotel Sopot and Gdańsk University of Technology.

Albert Einstein said that “A person doesn’t need to go to college to learn facts. He can get them from books. The value of (…) college education is that it trains the mind to think.” Nowadays, in a time of rapid digital transformation in both science and technology, these words are particularly relevant. Digital transformation affects us all, in every area of life – from daily communication and entertainment, education and work, up to complex business processes. Are we ready for it? How does it influence us? What are the opportunities and threats? How to fully use the possibilities it opens in education, research, business and personal ventures?

The answers to the above – and more – questions are sought by experts and authorities invited to the event. This attractive two-day schedule combines a “power speech” lecture, an Oxford-style debate and the Lodge of the Sages. Our audience, namely people of science, business, administration, media, non-governmental organisations, is welcome to join the discussions.

A traditional and celebratory element of the programme is the diploma ceremony for MBA PG graduates. This year, its unique atmosphere shall be strengthened by the presence of various guests, including directors of other MBA courses carried out at prestigious Polish universities.

This event perfectly complements the series of activities gathered under the umbrella term “Competitive Education”, which joins the intellectual and organisational potential of academic and business environments to shape the best and most innovative ideas and solutions serving the widely understood area of education.

Providing the best substantive and logistic level of the conference would not be possible without the cooperation with patrons and partners. Ministry of Science and Higher Education as well as Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, prof. dr hab. inż. Jacek Namieśnik, hold the honorary patronage over the event. Our content partner is the Open Eyes Economy Summit initiative.
