Study trip of leadership programme participants from Finland
On 12-16 November, the MBA GUT Programme hosted students attending the 1st year leadership Programme at Tampere University of Technology, Finland. The students – directors and managers at Finnish companies – represented various sectors: Energy, Metal Industry, Retail, Higher Education, Real Estate, Municipality.
Throughout their stay, the students participated in lectures and workshops on Time Management, Team Building and Sales Management delivered by MBA GUT lecturers. They also had the opportunity to visit the Immersive 3D Visualization Lab located at GUT. The lab allowed them to experience virtual reality, first-hand, thanks to the visualisations in a dedicated room – the cubic virtual reality cave and spherical walk simulator.
The key point of the programme was a scientific and networking meeting with current MBA GUT students and graduates. The meeting was a part of the MBA’s Creative Evening cycle. The current meeting was powered by DNV GL, a company based in Gdynia. The participants exchanged their experiences on two contemporary trends, namely the digital transformation and leading change.
The visit was not only based on academic lectures, but also discussions with business practitioners at the headquarters of Polish companies. The first company was Flex located in Tczew, where the group met with the Development Director and became acquainted with the entire production process by going along the Electronic and Mechanical Hall. On the last day, the Finnish guests learnt about the environment for Polish start-ups. At the O4 Coworking and Olivia Business Centre, they also had the opportunity to meet representatives of Blue Dot Solution, Skyrise, Infoshare and Space3ac.
An integral part of the visit was a lesson on the history of Solidarity and sightseeing in Gdańsk – the most attractive European city in 2018 according to TripAdvisor.
