The Open Eyes Economy Summit has been held since 2016 and brings together prominent figures from the worlds of science, economics and culture. It is a congress devoted to the economy based on social values.

This year’s fifth edition of the Open Eyes Economy Summit (OEES) – International Congress of the Economy of Values was held on 17-18 November 2020 in a hybrid format, using a special virtual streaming platform. During the two-day congress, the following topics were discussed: artificial intelligence, solidarity in development, mutualisation of resources and common goods, and architecture and urban adaptation to climate change. It was the largest remote event in the country – 2,500 people took part in the congress streamed online.

The International MBA Programme of the Gdańsk University of Technology, represented by the programme director, Dr Barbara Stepnowska, participated in the event. Together with the panellists: Ad Faasse, Przemysław Gdański, Tomasz Jabłoński, Ewa Sowińska led a discussion in a special session entitled  “Empathic leadership – management by values”. Together they discussed the new role of the leader and the meaning of the words #EMPATHIC LEADERSHIP as a sign of new times.

Among the distinguished speakers were also presidents of companies, scientists, politicians, economists, among others Aleksandra Dulkiewicz – Mayor of Gdańsk; Basia Ritz, the first Polish Masterchef; Mauricio Voivodic, President of WWF Brazil; and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, prof. Muhammad Yunus:

“Why should we go back to the pre-pandemic situation? This pre-pandemic world was not good; it was a monstrous world. It was a world of global warming and climate crisis. The coronavirus pandemic stopped the train rushing us towards destruction. We now have a chance to get off this train and avoid this disaster. People are the most endangered species“.

Irina Bokova, former Director-General of UNESCO: “Sustainable development is above all the development of people, we must not forget that. It cannot be based only on business development“.

Piąta edycja Open Eyes Economy Summit z udziałem programu International MBA GUT

Open Eyes Economy Summit odbywa się od 2016 roku i gromadzi wybitne osobistości ze świata nauki, ekonomii, kultury. To kongres poświęcony ekonomii opartej na wartościach społecznych.

Tegoroczna piąta edycja Open Eyes Economy Summit (OEES) – Międzynarodowego Kongresu Ekonomii Wartości odbyła się w dniach 17-18 listopada 2020r w formie hybrydowej, przy użyciu specjalnej wirtualnej platformy streamingowej. Podczas dwudniowego kongresu poruszono m.in. takie tematy jak: sztuczna inteligencja, solidarny rozwój, uwspólnianie zasobów i dóbra wspólne czy architektura i adaptacja miast do zmian klimatu. Było to największe zdalne wydarzenie w kraju – w Kongresie transmitowanym w Internecie wzięło udział 2500 osób.

Swój udział w wydarzeniu miał Program International MBA Politechniki Gdańskiej, reprezentowany przez dyrektor programu dr Barbarę Stepnowską. Wraz z panelistami: Ad Faasse, Przemysław Gdański, Tomasz Jabłoński, Ewa Sowińska prowadzili dyskusję w sesji specjalnej pt. „Empatyczne przywództwo – zarządzanie przez wartości”. Wspólnie podjęli dyskusję nad nową rolą lidera oraz znaczeniem słów #EMPATYCZNE PRZYWÓDZTWO- jako znak nowych czasów.

Wśród znamienitych prelegentów wystąpili również prezesi firm, naukowcy, politycy, ekonomiści, m.in. Aleksandra Dulkiewicz – Prezydent Miasta Gdańska; Basia Ritz, pierwsza polska Masterchef; Mauricio Voivodic, prezes WWF Brazylia; laureat Pokojowej Nagrody Nobla, prof. Muhammad Yunus:

„Dlaczego mielibyśmy wracać do sytuacji sprzed pandemii? Ten świat sprzed pandemii nie był dobrym światem, był światem potwornym. To był świat globalnego ocieplenia, kryzysu klimatycznego. Pandemia koronawirusa zatrzymała pędzący pociąg wiodący nas na zatracenie. Mamy teraz szansę, aby wyjść  z tego pociągu i uniknąć tej katastrofy. Ludzie są najbardziej zagrożonym gatunkiem”

oraz Irina Bokova, była dyrektor generalna UNESCO: „Zrównoważony rozwój to przede wszystkim rozwój ludzi, nie możemy o tym zapominać. Nie może się on opierać tylko na rozwoju biznesu”.
