Alumni, lecturer and students of the International MBA GUT programme took part in the Virtual Mass Race as a joint initiative with world champions.

The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is an international sporting event hosted by World Athletics. This year took place on 17th November 2020 in Gdynia. Our MBA running team took part in the Virtual Mass Race that accompanied this world-class event. The key message of this run was very simple and clear – ALL YOU NEED IS RUNNING.

The MBA team did what was needed and covered together a distance of exactly 21. 097 km on Saturday morning in the Matemblewo forests in Gdańsk. In the time of so-called “red zone” due to the pandemic situation, only forest was taking into consideration as safest and favourable environment that can ensure safe competition.

The start was a huge dose of integration, fun and group cooperation. MBA alumnus– Krzysztof Nykiel before the start, riding a bicycle has determined the route of the run, choosing the most interesting part of the trail, marking it with eco signs for other colleagues, and above all – selecting the route that will cover half marathon distance.

This time in the run took part: Katarzyna Gwóźdź (III MBA Alumnus), Krzysztof Nykiel (IX MBA Alumnus), Agnieszka Pransze (XII MBA Student), Ewelina Sasin (II MBA Alumnus), Rafał Stepnowski (MBA Lecturer) and Alicja Jaworska (FME GUT Alumnus).

MBA running team is an open initiative, that associate students of all MBA GUT’s cohorts, alumnus as well as lecturers and administrative staff. The team is actively participating in almost all sport events organized in Tri-City, ranging from Gdańsk marathon relays, triathlons to Iron Mans.
All participants finishing the race accompanying the World Athletics Half Marathon Championship received souvenir medals.

Drużyna sportowa programu MBA Politechniki Gdańskiej wystartowała w Mistrzostwach Świata w Półmaratonie!

W dniu mistrzostw – 17 listopada 2020 roku w nasza drużyna biegowa złożona z absolwentów, wykładowcy i studentów programu International MBA PG wzięła udział w wirtualnym wyścigu masowym, który towarzyszył biegowi głównemu mistrzostw świata w półmaratonie w Gdyni.

Zespół MBA w sobotni poranek w gdańskich lasach w Matemblewie wspólnie pokonał półmaratoński dystans – 21 097 km. Miejsce nie było bez znaczenia. W okresie tzw. „Czerwonej strefy” ze względu na pandemię była to jedyna najbezpieczniejsze miejsce, które nie tylko sprzyjało zdrowiu i środowisku, ale przede wszystkim zapewniało bezpieczną rywalizację.

Wspólny start dostarczył ogromną dawkę zabawy, integracji i współpracy w grupie. Absolwent MBA – Krzysztof Nykiel przed startem jadąc na rowerze wyznaczył trasę biegu, wybierając najciekawszy fragment trasy, oznaczając go ekologicznymi znakami i przede wszystkim – ustalając pętlę, której pokonanie będzie miało odpowiedni dystans półmaratoński.

Mistrzostwa Świata w półmaratonie to nie jedyne wydarzenie w którym stratują reprezentanci programu MBA.  Drużyna aktywnie uczestniczy w niemal wszystkich imprezach sportowych organizowanych w Trójmieście, począwszy od sztafet gdańskich maratonów, triathlonów po Iron Man.
